This item is modified from niin 6610-00-134-5625. The modification enables compatibility with the night vision goggle (nvg) system utilized by the u.S. Coast guard. An encoder is provided, which converts analog altitude data into digital form to be transmitted to the transponder for air traffic control use. A code off flag displays when power is removed from the encoder
