The tied 2 kit simulates the experience of a live improvised explosive device (ied), the kit creates explosion effects with various non-pyrotechnicaland pyrotechnical cueing devices, both wired and unwired, the system is flexible and allows the use of various devices as needed; the tied 2 kit consists of a common interface device (cid), remote trigger unit (rtu), and the following non-pyrotechnic explosion cueing devices; m155ft large ied simulator, m80tr pressure sensitive landmine, and the m12tr tripwire bobby trap; the non-pyrotechnic cueingdevices usa a discharge of co2 and smoke simulation powder to create a pyrotechnic effect, but without true explosion, the cid and rtu form the detonation system used to activate the various 12 volt cueing devices; the m80tr and m12tr do not interact with the cid and rtu and are activated by either a pressure switch or trip wire
