Aerial gunner scanner simulator (agss) consists of a trainee station for simultaneous training of three students, an instructor/operator station, a helmet-mounted visual display system (with both color and night vision goggle capabilities), a 3-dof motion system, 7.62 mm and .50 caliber simulated weapon systems, a digital computational system, and a fire detection system. The agss is reconfigurable to simulate both the mi-53j pave low iii aircraft (tail number 73-1649) and the mi-60g pave hawk aircraft (tail number 87-26007), the agss is capable of providing training independent of another trainer or it may be integrated with the computer of either the mi-53j or mi-60g weapon system trainers
