health hazards acute and chronic: vapor is heavier than air and can
cause suffocation by reducing oxygen available for breathing.

breathing very high concentrations of vapor can cause
light-headedness, giddiness, shortness of breath, and may lead to
narcosis, cardiac irregularities, unconsciousness, or death. Skin
or eye contact may cause frostbite.

explanation of carcinogenicity: none of the compounds in this product is
listed by iarc, ntp, or osha as a carcinogen.

effects of overexposure: the anestheitc effect of halon 1301 at levels
below 10% is similar to a feeling of mild intoxication. Anesthetic
effects end rapidly after exposure is terminated. Prolonged
