Worldwide distributor of NSN parts and consumables located in the USA.
A filler metal in wire or rod form used in welding where the fusing or melting heat is supplied through the medium of a gas flame or tungsten inert gas welding (tig) wherein the filler metal does not serve as a carrier for the electric current. See also electrode, welding. For a collection of welding rods, see welding rod set.

Health hazards acute and chronic: from electric arc welding: fumes &
gases can be dangerous to helath. Arc rays can injure eyes & burn
skin. Electric shock can kill. "short-term" over exposure to
welding fumes may result in discomfort such as: dizziness, nausea,
or dryness or irritation of nose, throat, or eyes, tightness in
chest, fever and allergic reactions. "long-term" (chronic)
overexposure to welding fumes may lead to sidero sis (iron deposit
in lungs) and is believed by some investigarors to affect pulmonary
function.
effects of overexposure: dizziness, nausea, or dryness or irritation of
nose, throat, or eyes, tightness in chest, fever and allergic
reactions. Long-term (chronic) may lead to siderosis (iron deposit
in lungs) and is believ ed by some investigators to affect
pulmonary function.
medical cond aggravated by exposure: n/p ( pulmonary disorders)
First aid: remove to fresh air, obtain medical attention. Employ first
aid techniques recommended by the american red cross.
