An item specifically designed to provide refueling support for rotary wing aircraft. it consists of a fuel pump and holding tanks, hoses couplings and nozzles required for four refueling points. the pump provides filtered fuel at a rate of 55 gpm to each of the four refueling points simultaneously. the hoses allow refueling at a distance of 100 feet between aircraft. all items are stowed in containers designed for easy handling. the aafars may be manually carried from the transport vehicle/aircraft to the selected refueling site, where it is easy assembled. the item functions under all terrain and/or environmental conditions, including total darkness. excludes fuel system, supply point (fssp), and forward refueling equipment (fare).
