zinc oxide may produce symptoms known as "zinc oxide chills", which
have no recognized complications. Exposure to zinc may cause skin
irritation. Inhalation of z inc oxide fumes may cause metal fume
fever. Potassium hydroxide can cause severe eye and skin irritation
and burns. Chronic - exposure to zinc oxide fumes may cause metal
fume fever.

effects of overexposure: if fumes inhaled: chills, fever, tightness in
chest, cough, irritation, burns, pain
First aid: get medical help if symptoms persist. Inhaled: move to fresh
air. Call physician. Eyes: flush with water for 15 minutes. Hold

batter y/open battery is ingested, do not induce vomiting. If
conscious, give large amount of water, if available 1 part vinegar
