contents are corrosive: thionyl chloride (socl2) will cause
irritation of eyes, skin and respirator y system. Prolonged
inhalation of fumes may cuase lung damage.
effects of overexposure: burns and irritation of eyes & skin. Upper
respiratory irritantion, coughing, difficulty in breathing.
medical cond aggravated by exposure: lung diseases.
First aid: if thionyl chloride is released (from ruptured batteries),
evacuate area and provide ventilation, wash eyes and skin with watr
for 15 minutes. Seek medical help.
