explanation of carcinogenicity: sodium dichromate: group 1 (ntp);iarc

effects of overexposure: hlth haz: skin rashes & ulcers. Bichromates are
skin sensitizers. Eye: corr. May cause conjunct if in cntct w/eyes.
chronic: rptd skin cntct may lead to incapacitating derm & slow
healing ulcers. Rptd in hal may cause perforation of nasal septum.
bichromates primarily toxic to kidneys, liver & gi tract. (see ing
8)
medical cond aggravated by exposure: persons w/pre-existing skin or eye
problems or impaired liver, kidney or respiratory function may be
more susceptible to effects of this substance.
First aid: inhal: remove to fresh air. If not brthg, give artf resp. If
brthg dfclt, give o*2. Call md. Ingest: induce vomit immed by giving
2 glasses of water & sticking finger down throat. Never give
anything by mouth to uncon person. Call md immed. Skin: remove any
contamd clthg. Wipe off excess from skin. Wash w/plenty of water
for at least 15 min. Get md immed. Eye: wash w/plenty of water for
at (supp data)
