MSDS CKFJJ NON-FLAMMABLE GAS MIXTURE

Hazards

Reports of carcinogenicity: ntp: no iarc: no osha: no
health hazards acute and chronic: target organs: respiratory system,
blood system, cardiovascular system, reproductive system. Acute:
due to the small size of the individual cylinder, no unusual health
effects from exposure to the pro duct are anticipated under routine
circumstances of use. However, carbon monoxide is toxic to humans.

symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning can develop gradually, or can
arise suddenly, depending on t he concentration and duration of
exposure. Other symptoms of over-exposure can include respiratory
difficulty, headaches, shortness of breath, wheezing, blurred
vision, memory loss, dizziness, ingesti on, nausea, unconsciousness
& death.

explanation of carcinogenicity: the components of this gas mixture are
not found on the following lists: federal osha z list, ntp,
cal/osha, and iarc; therefore are not considered to be, nor
suspected to be, cancer causing agents these agencies.

effects of overexposure: allexposure levels: overexposure to carbon
monoxide can be indicated by the lips & fingernails turning bright
red. 200ppm: slight symptoms (headache, discomfort) after several
hours of exposure. 400pp m: headache & discomfort experienced
within 2-3 hours of exposure. 1,000-2,000ppm: within 30 minutes,
slight palpitation of the heart occurs. Within 1.5 hours, there is
a tendency to stagger. 200-2500 ppm: within 2 hours, there is
mental confusion, headaches, & nausea. Unconsciousness within 30
minutes. >25000 ppm: potential for collapse & death before warning
symptoms are produced.

medical cond aggravated by exposure: pre-existing respiratory conditions
may be aggravated by over-exposure to this product. Carbon
monoxide, a component of this gas mixture, can aggravate some
diseases of the cardiovascular system.

First Aid

First aid: rescuers should wear personal protective equipment. At a
minimum, self-contained breathing apparatus must be worn. No
unusual helth effects are anticipated after exposure to this
product, due to the s mall cylinder size. If any advserse symptom
develops after over-exposure to this product, remove victim(s) to
fresh air as quickly as possible. Only trained personnel should
administer supplemental ox ygen and/or cardio-pulmonary
resuscitation if necessary. Victim(s) who experience any adverse
effect after over-exposure to this product must be taken for
medical attention. Rescuers should be taken f or medical attention
if needed.

Transportation

Cylinder itself. Cylinders shoul d be transported in a secure
position, in a well-ventilated vehicle. The transportation of
compressed gas cylinders in automobiles or in closed-body vehicles
can present serous safety hazards.

Reactivity

Stability indicator/materials to avoid: yes
titanium will burn in nitrogen (the main component of this product).

lithium reacts slowly with nitrogen at ambient temps. Components of
this product (hydrogen, carbon monoxide, methane) are also
incompatible with strong ox
stability condition to avoid: normally stable in gaseous state.

hazardous decomposition products: the thermal decomposition products of
methane include carbon oxides. The other components of this gas
mixture do not decompose, per se, but can react with other
compounds in the heat of a fire.

conditions to avoid polymerization: contact with incompatible materials.

cylinders exposed to high temperatures or direct flame can rupture
or burst.

Proper Disposal

Waste disposal methods: waste disposal must be in accordance with
appropriate federal, state, and local regulations. Cylinders with
undesired residual product may be safely vented outdoors with the
proper regulator.

routes of entry: inhalation: yes skin: no ingestion: no
reports of carcinogenicity: ntp: no iarc: no osha: no
health hazards acute and chronic: eye: not applicable. Skin: not
applicable. Ingestion. Ingestion unlikely. Gas at room temperature.

inhalation: if released in a confined area this product may
displace oxygen and result in asphyxia.

explanation of carcinogenicity: none
effects of overexposure: inhaled carbon monoxide binds with blood
hemoglobin to form carboxyhemoglobin. Carboxyhemoglobin can not
take part in normal oxygen transport, greatly reducing the blood's
ability to transport oxygen. depending on levels and duration of
exposure, symptoms may include headache, dizziness, heart
palpitations, weakness, confusion, nausea, and even convulsions,
eventual unconsciousness and death.

medical cond aggravated by exposure: not provided

First Aid

First aid: eye: not applicable. Skin: not applicable. Ingestion: not
applicable. Inhalation: prompt medical attention is mandatory in
all cases of overexposure. Rescue personnel should be equipped the
self conta ined breathing apparatus. Victims should be assisted to
an uncontaminated area and inhale fresh air. Quick removal from the
contaminated area is most important. If breathing has stopped
administer art ificial resuscitation and supplemental oxygen.

further treatment should be symptomatic and supportive.
