silica (non-crystalline) epidemiological studies indicate low
potential for adverse health effects. Davison considers silica gel
to be a nuisance dust. In activated form,silica gel acts is
desiccant & can cause drying irritation of mucous membranes & skin
in cases of severe exposure.
