Hazards

Health hazards acute and chronic: calcium dichromate: prolonged exposure
to hexavalent chromium compounds over the pel may cause penetrating
ulcers of the skin and mucous membranes of the nose and
peroforattion of the cartlilaginous n asal septum. Although this
chromium compound is not designated by ntp or iarc as cancer
causing chemicals, the list entitled "chemicals known by the state
of california to cause cancer" as required by the safe drinking
water and toxic enforcement act, proposition 65 includes hexavalent
chromium compounds.
