have acute systemic toxicity by ingestion. Some asphalts contain
sulfur compounds which may form h2s whe n heated. This may cause
cns effects.

effects of overexposure: upper respiratory tract, eye and skin
irritation. Fumes from hot material may cause nausea and irritation
or upper respiratory tract. h2s may cause headaches, dizziness,
nausea, coughing dryness in t he nose, throat and chest, confusion
and unconsciousness. Death has occurred following exposure of h2s
to 600 ppm.

First Aid

First aid: eyes: flush with running water for 15 minutes while lifting
eyelids. Skin: flush with water. Remove contaminated clothing. If
the hot, melted material gets on skin, quickly cool in water. See a
