Firing Mechanism Cocking Piece

An item of varying design used to mechanically prepare the operating parts of the weapon for firing. It may act as a lever, ride a cam path, act directly against a hammer, or otherwise prepare the weapon to fire. It normally acts directly against the initiating source. Excludes items where cocking the weapon is a secondary function.
