A straight-sided glass vessel, without neck or shoulder, having flat bottom and ground rim, and usually without a cover. Its diameter is approximately equal to its height. It is used in laboratory procedures. Excludes jar, battery; jar, museum; and cylinder, ungraduated, laboratory. Do not use if a more specific name is available.
