Conformal Acoustic Velocity Sona

This item is a passive detection, ranging and localization array that is mounted external to the submarine hull. The array has a larger vertical aperture than any other hull array currently in the fleet, which allows for exploiting environments of interest for the nuclear powered ballistic missile submarine platform. The inboard system includes an advanced processing capability required for adaptive beam forming of an array this size.
