Pile Driver Cushion Block

An item fabricated from wood which may be cylindrical throughout its entire length, or for part of its length, the remainder having a curved surface symmetrical in reference to its longitudinal axis, but with variable cross-sectional diameters. It may have flat parallel faces, or a crowned top and a flat base. It may be fitted with a band, pile and cushion block. It is used to cushion the blow between drop hammer or hammer anvil and drive cap in pile driving operations. Excludes block, filler, wood.
