Cutting Tool Insert Shim Seat

A device that seats and supports the insert, cutting tool, between the insert and the holder, cutting tool; bar, boring tool or cutter milling. it protects the holding device and stabilizes the cutting edge. it may be the same shape as the insert or have accommodation for attachnent and alignment with the holding device. excludes shims not used in machining operations nd shim used to align the height of cutter bits.
