Common Building Brick

A rectangular shaped block made from clay or shale. It is individually molded and hardened by baking or burning by fire in a kiln. Its dimensions are usually 2 1/2 inches (63.5 mm) by 4 inches (101.6 mm) by 8 inches (203.2 mm). It is principally used in masonry construction. Excludes brick, building, concrete; and brick, building, sand-lime.
