Health hazards acute and chronic: mineral wool fiber and nuisance dust
may cause transitory mechanical irritation to eyes, skin or upper
respiratory tract. Although current studies do not establish
mineral wool to be a health hazard i arc continues to clarify the
fiber in category 2b. Cement, clay and limstone contain a small
amount of crystalline silica. There is limitedevidence of
carcinogenicity of crystalline silica in humans. iarc has
classified crystalline silica in category 2a. Prolonged inhalation
of mineral dust may reduce ling function. This msds will be updated
as mew medical findings are published.
