A one-piece all metal ax, the head of which is designed with a semicircular cutting edge on one side and a picklike projection on the other. The handle is usually covered with a permanently attached insulating grip. The ax is designed to facilitate rescue of persons trapped in wreckage, especially of aircraft or ground vehicles.
