Antifouling Paint

The last coat of paint applied to the hull of a ship or surfaces of other items which are exposed to sea water, and contains toxic ingredients, such as red or yellow mercuric oxide, or red cuprous oxide. These toxic substances prevent the attachment of barnacles and other marine growth.
