Lapping Plate

A round, rectangular, or square-shaped item manufactured from various metals. By comparison, its thickness is less than its length, width, or diameter. The lap (abrading surface) has narrow v-shaped or straight-sided grooves to facilitate abrading. Used to produce a geometrically flat or smooth surface by abrasion. Excludes block, lapping.
