Delay Cartridge

An item consisting of a quantity of propellant, a means of activation, and a time delay enclosed in a container. It may contain an integral cutting punch. It is designed to be inserted into or attached to one or more devices to provide energy required to operate devices requiring a time delay in their operating sequence. It is used in devices such as actuators, release mechanisms, cutters, and the like. For cartridges without a time delay, see cartridge, impulse.
