Sliding Block

A solid square item, usually of t-shaped cross-section, provided with two plane and parallel bearing surfaces. The item may have a threaded or unthreaded center hole and is designed for insertion into t-shaped grooves for alignment or fixing of parts. Excludes items used for alignment or fixing of workpieces, devices, clamping tools, etc., on machine tools. See sliding block, t-slot.
