Visual Distance Computer

A computer for determining the distance that can be seen by an observer, such as an aircraft pilot, to a predetermined point, such as the approach end of an airport runway. It is a component of a meteorological system for establishing criteria during the approach phase of an instrument landing under marginal or zero visibility conditions.
