Rock Drill Rod Shank

A straight metal rod with a shank at one end to fit the drilling machine chuck, and the opposite end externally threaded or tapered for attachment by a coupling to a threaded drill rod section. The shank has a passageway throughout its entire length for conducting air or water to clear the hole being drilled, and a packing seal in the upper end of the shank, length must be less than 15 inches (381 mm).
