Identification Optical Reader

A device which uses a visable/infra-red/ultra-violet light detector to scan bar codes, alpha-numeric characters, or other marking codes. it converts the scanned data to a signal which is input into an electronic inventory/tracking system. the unit maybe operated at a fixed site or hand-held. the unit may also include a light source for use in reduced light areas. excludes receiver-transmitter, laser.
